During two televised telethons - Festa ta' Ġenerożità and L-Istrina, thousands of generous Melita subscribers made a donation towards Id-Dar tal-Providenza and The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
As a way of supporting these organisations' stellar work, as well as to thank their customers for their generosity, Melita topped up the amount donated by their customers by an additional €1 for each and every subscriber that made a donation.
During L-Istrina, which was held on the 26th December 2017, approximately 20,000 Melita subscribers made a donation towards The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, so Melita, donated a further €20,000 to the cause.
On the 1st January, during Festa ta' Ġenerożità - a telethon held in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza - approximately 5000 Melita subscribers made a donation, so Melita, donated a further €5,000. In addition, Melita employees donated another €5,000 bringing the total amount donated towards Id-Dar tal-Providenza to €10,000.
The two donations which totaled €30,000 were presented by Ms. Mireille Muscat, Head of Marketing at Melita to Fr. Martin Micallef on behalf of Id-Dar tal-Providenza and H.E Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta on behalf of The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
