Air Malta pilots have agreed with the deal struck between ALPA (the pilot's union), Air Malta and government.

Recently, ALPA, Air Malta and government found agreement over collective agreement terms, after a lengthy discussion process which saw threats of industrial action.

Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi, in a tweet, said: "Today's vote of approval of 90% by @Airmalta pilots seals the last of 5 collective agreements, providing for industrial peace & productivity improvements for airline for coming 5 years. Now our job is to transform Air Malta into the airline of the Mediterranean."

The deal was made after heated talks between the airline and pilots, and Air Malta had even started leasing aircraft in case of possible strike action.

While no details about the deal have yet been revealed, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat had previously mentioned offering over €72,000 to first officers over five years, and €105,000 to captains in raises, and that they were expected to work more hours.
