An elderly man suffered grievous injuries after an accident between a van, driven by the man in question, and a bowser.

The incident occurred at 11 am on Vittmi Furjaniżi road, in Floriana.

Civil Protection Department officials went on site to help the 70-year-old man from Hamrun out of the vehicle as he was caught inside.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, and the 33-year-old bowser driver was not injured.

Investigations are ongoing.
