A 51-year-old woman from Msida was hospitalised with grievous injuries this evening after she was run over in Hamrun, the police said.

The accident took place at around 17:30pm in Triq Lunzjata.

The woman was hit by a Suzuki Alto that was being driven by a 19-year-old woman from Pembroke.

The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
