Since 2013, nine applications approved to develop farms for residential use

Since 2013, there have been 14 applications put forward to redevelop farms for residential use, out of which only nine were approved, according to information tabled in parliament yesterday.

The information, provided by Minister of Infrastructure Ian Borg, one of the applications remains pending, whilst three were turned down by the Planning Authority, and one was withdrawn.

The highest number of applications, seven, was put forward in 2016. Three applications were put forward last year.

The applications varied in nature, from changing a farm's purpose to developing on it.
