The Emigrants Commission today said that the Nigerian seven-year-old girl who died suddenly earlier this week was not under the care of a Church entity.
In a statement issued via the Church communications office, the commission said that the girl lived with her family in a house lent to them by Dominican Sisters after a request made in 2016 by the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers, a government agency.
The Nigerian family was not under the care of any Church entity, the commission said.
The seven-year-old Nigerian girl was found dead in the home on the night between Sunday and Monday.
The cause of death is yet to be established.
