Watch: Italian presenter with ‘Malta connection’ falls ill during live programme

Monday, 29 January 2018, 09:09 Last update: about 7 years ago

Italian presenter Massimo Giletti stopped his Sunday programme on La 7 midway through after not feeling well.

Footage shows Giletti telling his guests and audience that he was not feeling “in top form”. He first asked for a stool to rest but, later on, was unable to continue the programme "Non e' l'Arena".

Instead, a recorded feature was shown.

Italian media report that Giletti was suffering from influenza and was taken to hospital for treatment.

In 2011, Giletti had caused uproar in Malta by claiming that migrants fleeing from North Africa were not heading towards Malta because Malta is known to shoot at incoming migrants. The presenter had later apologised.
