The Malta-EU Steering & Action Committee (MEUSAC), the University of Malta and the Gozo Business Chamber have been chosen to host Europe Direct Information Centres in Malta and Gozo for the next three years.
Europe Direct centres provide information to citizens about the EU and its activities. Spread around Malta and Gozo, they deal with queries and information requests from the public and disseminate EU publications.
They also work proactively with civil society, for example by organising Citizens' Dialogues with visting Commissioners or through projects with information centres from other Member States, amongst many other activities.
The Europe Direct host organisations were chosen after an EU-wide Call for Proposals in 2017. The EDICs in Malta and Gozo are part of a network of about 450 EU information centres across the European Union.
