Mater Dei's A&E Department collect funds to send body of Romanian accident victim back home for burial, according to the hospital's CEO.
Mater Dei CEO Ivan Falzon has said that the Accident and Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital is collecting funds to repatriate the body of the Romanian national killed Saturday, after a tree fell on his car.
"I've just been informed that our MDH A&E team is leading an effort to collect funds so the Romanian national that lost his life in the unfortunate accident of yesterday is repatriated back to his home country for burial close to his family" the CEO posted on Facebook.
The tree collapsed onto the car he was driving in Mriehel. A female passenger had been taken to hospital for treatment.
The police said that the couple were Romanian nationals who live in Mosta. The man, Dan Udrea, was aged 38, the woman is 32 years old.
