Malta's leading esports provider Quickfire has partnered up with the global tournament platform Face-it to launch weekly gaming tournaments.

The HotShot Series will be an ongoing competitive series for the popular video game titles Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2. These events are hosted every Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

The first tournament featured some nail-biting action, with 18 teams from all over Europe going head-to-head over one evening. A Romanian team came out on top, taking home 10,000 Face-it points, the platform's de-facto currency.

Quickfire, now a household esports name in Malta, is branching out into international waters, aiming to put Malta and Maltese talent on the global esports map.

The Face-It platform has 8 million users and is now hosting the fifth season of ECS (Esports Championship Series)

After being acquired by the Eden Leisure Group in July 2017, Quickfire has gone from strength to strength. Among their successes was hosting Malta's largest video gaming event, The Nova Series, and opening an esports facility within the Eden Superbowl.

The next Nova Series LAN event will take place between 6 and 8 April at the InterContinental Arena Conference Centre in St Julian's.
