Two injured, four held by police after ‘plastic pipe’ fight in Tarxien

Two persons were injured and four are being held by the police after what has been described as a “plastic pipe” fight in Tarxien.

The police said it was informed at around 11.45pm of an incident which had taken place in Kelinu Cachia Street at 3.45pm.

Investigations revealed that a 36-year-old man of Tarxien, a 42-year-old man of Qormi and a 68-year-old man of Tarxien were involved in a fight with other persons. The police said that a plastic pipe was used in the incident, but the police did not say how.

The three persons named above were taken to hospital, with the 36-year-old suffering grievous injuries while the 42-year-old was slightly hurt. The elderly person had no injuries, the police said.

Another four persons involved in the argument were being questioned by the police about their involvement.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia is holding an inquiry.
