The popular Maltese Chamber Ensemble launches campaign on ZAAR to support charity event performing new composition

The Medina Foundation for Music and the St Paul's Chamber Ensemble have launched a campaign on the ZAAR crowdfunding platform to raise funds for their upcoming charity event as well as their 2018-19 concerts programme.

Held at St John's Co Cathedral in Valletta on Friday 16 March 2018, the event will not only premier the new composition 'Messa da Requiem' by Mro Mark Agius, but will also feature the Polish Rotondo Choir, under the direction of Ms Natalia Anna Sobkowiak, who will be travelling to Malta from Poznan especially for the occasion.

"The St Paul Chamber Ensemble is fast becoming one of Malta's foremost musical ensembles, bringing together some of the finest musicians and singers our island has to offer, and with a very full concert programme of the highest calibre," says Mro Agius.

"We are delighted to be crowdfunding not only to support this important philanthropic initiative but also to seek partners to support all our projects for 2018. With their help, we can continue to encourage professional musical development in Malta, and to cultivate cross-cultural creativity, innovation and excellence, especially in Valletta's year as European Capital of Culture".

Whilst all proceeds from the 'Messa da Requiem' event are to be donated to Dar tal-Providenza, the Medina Foundation followed the recommendation of the Malta Arts Council to crowdfund for the total of €5,000 required, to cover the costs of rehearsal venues and the various logistics required to realise the performances throughout their 2018-19 programme.
