The Annual Pharmacy Symposium organised by the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is this year being held at the Msida campus at the nALR in the Biomedical Building between 5 and 9  March.

During the symposium the final year doctorate in pharmacy students will be presenting their dissertations. The research areas address development of novel pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services, access and assessment of innovative therapies and processes which contribute to enhanced patient safety.

Final year pharmacy students completing their MPharm degree and students in their final year of the courses leading to the Bachelor of Science (Hons) Pharmaceutical Technology degree and the Master of Science in Pharmacy present their research work.

Second, third and fourth year pharmacy students present their work-in-progress project as posters and in poster discussion fora. Students present projects and dissertations undertaken in the fields of interest of the department namely Pharmaceutical Care, Pharmacy Administration, Pharmacy Information, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Technology and Computational Chemistry.

The symposium is an opportunity for students, staff and collaborators of the department of pharmacy to meet, network and discuss research programmes.

A feature during this year's symposium is the introduction of Buzz sessions which are facilitated sessions intended to bring in an interactive experience with the student group in the audience.  Health care professionals and colleagues are invited to attend.
