There were 474 parliamentary questions which remained unanswered in the previous legislature because Parliament was dissolved, Speaker Anglu Farrugia said.

Replying to a parliamentary question submitted by Nationalist Party whip Robert Cutajar, Farrugia said that in the 12th legislature – 2013-2017 – there were 1,617 PQs that were either answered with the words “a reply will be given in another sitting” or “information is still being gathered”.

Replying to another PQ by Cutajar, Speaker Farrugia said that so far in this legislature there have been 251 occasions in which a PQ was answered with the words “a reply will be given in another sitting” or “information is still being gathered”.

Another 712 questions are pending and will be appearing on the House agenda in the coming sittings, Farrugia said.
