Local real estate giant RE/MAX Malta has signed an agreement to become the new sponsor of successful local Premier League Football Club, Gzira United.

Already in its second year in Malta's highest league, Gzira Utd FC is currently ranked in the top four, with aspirations of a place in the UEFA Europa League.

Speaking about the agreement with RE/MAX Malta, the club's CEO Edward Zammit Tabone said: "This sponsorship and recognition by RE/MAX, one of Malta's most reputable and highly respected companies, is an honour that will continue to strengthen the motivation of the team and everyone at GUFC."

The agreement is the latest in a list of sports sponsorships donated by RE/MAX Malta. In keeping with the company's core belief in supporting the community, it has backed a large number of local and international sporting fixtures including basketball, baseball, boxing, rugby football, skiing and soccer.

"RE/MAX Malta has always believed in supporting learning through sport, and what better way to promote awareness of sport than by sponsoring a local premier league football club?" says RE/MAX Malta CEO Kevin Buttigieg. "We were particularly impressed by the professional management style of this football club, and we hope the Gzira United team, like the team at RE/MAX, will continue to inspire other Maltese entrepreneurs with its ongoing success."

The distinctive maroon and light blue jerseys usually worn by the team will now sport the RE/MAX logo.
