The funeral of Paul Muscat, the Gozo Channel captain who was found dead inside his Mġarr ix-Xini residence together with his partner, was held on Wednesday morning in Tarxien.
The bodies of Muscat and his partner, UK national Diane Ainsley, were found inside the Mġarr ix-Xini boathouse on Friday.
It is believed that they died as a result of a gas leak.
Investigators believe that the couple had been dead for a couple of days when they were found.
A magisterial inquiry is underway.
Muscat’s coffin was draped in a Gozo Channel flag and was carried by some of his colleagues from the Gozo ferry company.
The ship captain, 59, had two children. He was originally from Birzebbugia but lived in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo.
Diane Ainsley was 52. This newsroom is informed that her body is still being held in Gozo pending transport to the UK.
