A diver who was reported missing by his wife earlier today returned safely to shore on his own.

A search had been mounted for the diver who was reported missing in Xwejni Bay, limits of Marsalforn.

The diver is a British resident who lives in Zebbug. He was reported missing by his wife.

Armed Forces of Malta personnel and police officers were involved in the search, but the man returned safely to shore on his own.

Last week, a woman died after she found herself in difficulty while swimming in the same bay.
