There are currently no applications for the construction of new fuel stations in Gozo, Transport Minister Ian Borg said this evening.
Replying to a Parliamentary Question by PN MP Chris Said, Borg said the Planning Authority has approved 23 permits related to fuel stations in Gozo since it was established in 1993.
The minister said there are currently two applications before the PA but these are for the alteration or renovation of existing fuel stations. He said he could not say at this stage whether these permits would be approved or not since the PA board deals with these applications on a case by case basis.
A few weeks ago Minister Borg said 67 development applications related to petrol stations had been validated or published by the Planning Authority since 2013.
