48-year-old motorcyclist from Fgura was grievously injured in a traffic collision in Luqa Thursday afternoon, police said. 

The man was driving a Yamaha TDM850 motorbike had collided with a Honda Fit car driven by a 23-year-old woman who is also from Fgura. 

Paramedics rushed to the scene and took the man to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as being grievously injured. The woman driving the car involved was not injured.

The incident took place in Triq Ħal Qormi at around 2pm, police said. 

Police said they are investigating further.
