Nine people were arrested by the police after a raid in a Qormi garage in which drugs, unlicensed weapons and money was seized.

The police said the raid was carried out on Mejjilla Street, but it did not say when.

Eight men and a woman aged between 30 and 62 were arrested after cocaine ready to be trafficked was found together with electronic scales and other equipment associated with drug trafficking.

Two unlicensed weapons and €3,000 in case were also found, the police said.

The police did not give the nationalities or places of residence of the arrested persons.
