‘Mamma Mia’ announces extra show!

As tickets have nearly sold out for the existing run, the producers have announced an extra show on Saturday, 14 April at 3pm

If you're in the mood for some serious Mamma Mia fun but haven't got your tickets yet - you're in luck! The show, which is already nearly sold out on its existing dates, has added another fun-filled performance on Saturday, 14 April at 3pm. That said a number of tickets are still available for the rest of the run, on Friday, 13 April at 8pm, on Saturday, 14 April at 8pm and on Sunday, 15 April at 3pm and 7.30pm.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the response to Mamma Mia," says producer Edward Mercieca, whose company FM Theatre is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. "Following hot on the heels of our February musical My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia promises to be a great night out at the theatre and to delight Abba fans - as well as Abba newbies - alike."

Just like in the Mamma Mia movie, Mamma Mia the musical includes all-singing, all-dancing renditions of Abba hits including Super Trouper, Lay All Your Love on Me, Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Take a Chance on Me, Thank You for the Music, Money, Money, Money, The Winner Takes It All, Voulez-Vous, SOS and the title track, Mamma Mia.

The show will star West End leading lady Charlotte Gorton, who is flying to Malta especially for the performances, as well as an all-star local cast including Izzy Warrington, Pia Zammit, Antony Edridge, Ray Calleja, Edward Mercieca, Maxine Aquilina, Tom Camilleri, Francesco Nicodeme, Jeremy Grech, Nicole Cassar and Tezara Eve Camilleri. It will be directed by Chris Gatt with Kris Spiteri as musical director, Cathy Lawlor as vocal coach and Francesco Nicodeme as choreographer.

"There are few musicals as feel-good and fun as Mamma Mia. It promises nothing but a wonderful time, with songs people love and a storyline that will make you smile. If you see one major theatrical event this season, make it this one!" Mercieca adds.

Mamma Mia will be staged at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Friday, 13 April at 8pm, Saturday, 14 April at 3pm and 8pm and Sunday, 15 April at 3pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are available now from www.mcc.com.mt or by calling the ticket hotline on 7944 5030.
