Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana has announced that the process regarding a call for offers which will result in Ulysses Grove, Xewkija, being turned into a family park has been issued.

This project will see the mostly unaccessivle area transformed into an area for relaxation, with a special emphasis on physical activity. A 1 km track will be installed on the site for walking, running, and for bicycle use.

Gzo Minister Justyne Caruana said that this will be an innovative project for Gozo, and will provide added value for residents.

She said that this project is one of many which the ministry is conducting to provide open spaces for families. Such spaces also promote social inclusion, she said, as well as physical activity.

She said that the natural environment will be given special attention.

The first stage, for which the call for offers has already been issued, will see the process of leveling to strengthen the base of the area the track will cover. The second phase will include the construction of a new entrance, repair of rubble walls etc, and the third phase will see the installation of an open air gym, and the installation of benches.
