Waterpolo, Winter League: Sirens register second win against Exiles

Sirens Greentube registered their second win in three matches when they beat Exiles Jetfreight 7-5 in a somewhat tight encounter on Tuesday evening.

The first session ended 3-1 in favour of Sirens. Clint Mercieca put Sirens ahead but Timmy Sullivan equalised for Exiles. Two goals by Jacob Sciberras put Sirens two goals ahead at the end of the session. The second session was a closer affair ending 2-2. John Brownrigg made it 4-1 but Timmy Sullivan and Aurelian Cousin clawed two goals back to make it 4-3. Clint Mercieca struck to make it 5-3 to maintain the two goal advantage at the halfway point.

Exiles came back strongly in the third session which they won 2-1. John Brownrigg made it 6-3 at the beginning of the session but two gaosl from Andrea Bianchi and Kurt Griscti made it 5-6 to set up a tense final session. However the fourth session ended with a goal by Edward Aquilina to give Sirens a 7-5 victory.
