A 19-year-old biker died last night when he lost control of the bike he was riding and crashed in St Julian’s, the police said.

The accident happened in Birkirkara Road at 10.30pm.

The police said the biker, named as Denilson Briffa, died at the scene of the accident.

The biker was returning to Mum's Pizzeria after a delivery service, and was to leave the bike at the pizzeria at the end of his shift.

Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit is conducting an inquiry.

He is the third biker to die in a traffic accident this year. Two motorcyclists died within 24 hours of each other on the Coast Road last month.
