Number 8 Urgah de Rib is the winner of the BOV Tazza l-Kbira 2018.
Driven by veteran jockey Charles Camilleri, Urgah de Rib won the 10 men final coming in with a considerable advantage in the final straight, leading Paparazzi, Urac, Rififi Nonantais and fifth placed Midsummer King.
No 10 Tip Top Nelliere was the only horse disqualified in this final.
Charles Camilleri etched his name in the history books as one of few jockeys who won the Tazza l-Kbira twice.
Following the race, Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Clifton Grima accompanied by BOV Chief Officer Albert Frendo, BOV Executive PR & Marketing Charles Azzopardi and Malta Racing Club President Edwin Borg presented the iconic Tazza l-Kbira to the owners of Urgah De Rib and the cups and winnings to the top 5 placed horses.
The race was preceded by a parade from the Malta Mini Club and a number of classical sulkies.
