Twenty-seven female and 20 male contestants will be taking part in this year's contest for iss & Mr World Malta. The lucky winners, together with 160 other contestants from all over the world, will be spending a month exploring and taking part in various activities. Miss World is Britain's most successful ever international television show.

The organisers, Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja, are very satisfied with this year's turnout and good standard of education from the contestants who have participated in various events and activities which were organised throughout these past months. All contestants have appeared on the TV programme Gateway To Miss & Mr World, where they have  participated in various photoshoots, interviews and other  features in the same programme which gave them good exposure and different experiences during these months.

The winners will be announced on Saturday, 19 May and crowned by Michela Galea, the reigning Miss World Malta who has also participated in the last edition of the Miss World event held in China and Timmy Puschkin, Mr World 2016.

The final night will be hosted by Keith Demicoli and co-hosts Ryan Borg and Josmar. The event, to be held at Piazza Teatru, will be transmitted live on One TV at 9pm.

This year Modelle International celebrates the 24th anniversary since they obtained the licence and rights to send a Maltese representative to participate in Miss & Mr World.

Fashion houses participating on the night include JD Formal wear, L'infini, Bliss, Raja & Co., Herman Vassallo presenting Roma Collection, Exclusive, Victor Azzopardi Jewellery and a Hair show Vitality by Mark Stafrace and team.

A few days before the contest all participants have to pass through a judging session on their personality. Other marks will be given during the final night.

A spectacular opening will be choreographed by Jes Sciberras followed by an evening parade with 12 female and 10 male contestants making it to the semi-finals.

Several titles will be given including the most popular award, Miss World Beauty with a Purpose. Once again, all contestants collaborated with the NGO Dr Klown and a sum of money will be presented on the night.

Good luck to all the contestants and special thanks goes to all the sponsors for their constant support.
