For Dragon Academy Malta (DAM), the month of April was characterised by success.

On Sunday 22nd April the Malta Taekwondo Federation organised a local competition that was held at St. Aloysius College. For this event DAM fielded 14 athletes out of whom 13 played for the title of their respective category. DAM managed to win 6 out of 10 categories, placing first amongst all participating clubs.

Surely the most exciting games where those featuring our elite athletes Jerome Vassallo and Kylie Magro who had both just come back from their participation in the Junior World Championships in Hammamet, Tunisia. Kylie Magro proved to be of great superiority to her opponents defeating both with point gap difference. Jerome Vassallo started slow in his first game but gained momentum and eventually won his first bout with point gap difference as well. His second bout proved to be more challenging, where he had to play more of a tactical game to overcome his opponent. Both Vassallo and Magro won their respective category.

A notable game was played by our young promising athlete Asma Kerfah against a much-experienced opponent. Though leading 25-18, she sadly lost her game by punitive action.
