A man from Cospicua was yesterday arrested after the police found a "considerable" amount of cannabis in a car.
At about 5pm, officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit noticed a suspicious vehicle as they were patrolling the area, and signaled to the driver to stop and pull over.
The man did not pull over, but drove through many streets around Cospicua, prior to ditching his car in Triq il-Gendus, and running away.
Upon searching the car, the police discovered a "considerable" amount of cannabis as well as other objects related to drug use.
Later on in the day, a man from Cospicua was arrested by the police in relation to the case.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading the inquiry into the case.
Police investigations are underway.
