An Englishman suffered grievous injuries after he was stabbed by a Maltese citizen following an argument in Qawra, the police said.

The incident took place at 7am in Kavetta Street.

The 26-year-old Briton was stabbed by a 22-year-old resident of St Paul’s Bay who ran away from the scene.

The Briton was taken to hospital for treatment.

Magistrate Marseanne Farrugia appointed experts to help her in the inquiry.
