Jake Agius, Nicky Gauci, Luke Muscat and Neville Zammit competed in the 5th Round of the Regional Karting Championship in Sicily at the Kinisia Track at Trapani on Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th of May.

The four Karting Club Malta drivers competed in the 125 Rotax Max Class. Jake Agius won this round while Nicky Gauci had the best lap time at 45.574 seconds. These drivers are taking this championship very seriously due to the lack of a championship in Malta in proper and adequate facilities, this seems to be the only alternative although it offers bigger expenses to their families to travel to Sicily for every round as well as for training. Jake Agius is leading the championship after the 5th round followed very closely by Nicky Gauci. Jake Agius is still benefitting from the fact that he made all rounds while all the other drivers missed one.

Luke Muscat placed third while Neville Zammit placed fourth.
