The government provided over €3.3 million in funds to 101 state schools around Malta and Gozo for the management of their respective educational services, roughly €30,000 per school, figures have revealed.
The figures, which were tabled by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo in reply to a parliamentary question from PN MP Ivan Bartolo, show that in 2018 €1,750,000 were spread out between 69 primary schools, an average of €25,362 euro per school, while €1,520,000 were provided to 32 secondary schools, an average of €47,500 per school.
In 2016, around €1,410,000 and €1,230,000 in funds was given to primary and secondary schools respectively, while in 2017 primary schools received €1,340,000, while secondary school were provided with €1,290,000.
