Retired judge Philip Sciberras has handed over a report commissioned by the government following the death of a Nigerian eight-year-old girl at a Dominican residence in Zabbar.

The government said that the report will not be published now because a magisterial inquiry is still taking place.

In a statement, the Family Ministry said that it is committed to publish the report but, following advice from the Attorney General, this will be done only after the magisterial inquiry is completed.

The ministry said that it will however take on board all administrative recommendations made in the report with immediate effect.

The Nigerian girl, Victoria Aluko, died as a result of a rare condition, Minister Michael Farrugia had told Parliament.
