98 applications made by government entities, including local councils, for the uprooting or pruning of trees were approved by the Environmental Resources Authority (ERA) since January of 2017 until April of this year.
A total of 115 applications were submitted.
Out of the remaining 17 applications, two were refused. The other 15 were either suspended, retrieved by the applicant, did not require permission by the ERA or are still being processed.
This data was tabled this evening in parliament by Environment Minister Jose Herrera in reply to a parliamentary question by Democratic Party MP Godfrey Farrugia.
