Denise and Bernard used to attend the same course while studying and during their final year they decided to team up for their thesis, so they used to meet more often. They both started to feel closer together and their love story began. Bernard proposed to Denise on her 26th birthday, in Mdina which is her favourite city in Malta. They bought a house together and marriage was the next step forward.
They tied the knot on March 19 in 2017. The Mass was celebrated in Naxxar Parish Church. They chose this location because their new house was located in this village, therefore, wanted to celebrate their wedding vows in their new hometown. They later celebrated their love together with their families and friends at the spectacular venue Villa Bologna, in Attard. They were lucky to have nice weather on the day to mainly use the outdoor space of the venue, which was just perfect for them.
The theme for their wedding day was rustic, and they decorated the reception venue mainly themselves, together with the help of Denise's mother. Denise loves to create DIY decorations and so they did a lovely job. At the church, they created the Mass booklets themselves and also provided handkerchiefs for the happy tears! They put various decorations at the venue, including handmade cushions for guests to sit comfortably around the venue.
They created felt flowers and decorated the lovely willow tree at the Villa Bologna; they had a signpost indicating the various food stations, the dance floor and other areas available at the wedding reception. Beautiful flowers by Julie Lupi completed the rustic look in both locations. Music was provided by Firelight (Mics Band) exclusive artists of Tunin Entertainment.
Denise wore a dress for the day created specially by her mother; it was a dress she always dreamt about. At first, she had bought a dress but was not too sure about it so her mum, just two months before the wedding day, offered to create one for Denise herself because she knew perfectly what her daughter wanted. The dress was very beautiful and fitted the bride perfectly, it was an ivory ball gown with a three-quarter length sleeved top and a heart neckline, made of silk. It also had five layers of tulle and two under skirts.
Bernard wore a lovely blue suit from Aristocrat, they both liked the colour of the suit, and he looked very handsome.
They were both very happy with the outcome of their special day; they celebrated in style with their families and closest friends. The couple wanted to thank their guests with souvenirs they can use, so Denise and Bernard provided wooden forks and spoons and attached a Zeppole recipe which is a traditional sweet known for St Joseph feast which happened to be celebrated on their wedding day.
After the wedding day, they went on a lovely break in Spain. They enjoyed and loved every second of it.
