In Santa Pod during the first round of the European Drag Racing Championship Duncan Micallef ended the four rounds of qualifications in third place of his FIA Top Fuel dragster class. He is following Antti Horto and Liam Jones. The best time Micallef made so far was 3.92 seconds at a speed of 309.97 miles per hour.

Also after four rounds of qualification Glenn Borg and Franklyn Borg riding the motorcycle of Simon Giordmaina contained the fourth place of their respective classes. Glenn Borg is competing in the FIM Top Fuel Bike class and Franklyn Borg is competing in the FIM Super Street Bike class. The best time Glenn Borg did is 6.57 seconds at a speed of 206.29 miles per hour. By this result he is now the third fastest drivers of the Promod type motorcycles. The best time for Franklyn Borg so far is 7.12 seconds and 200.76 mph.

The air conditions at Santa Pod were not favorable and all drivers found it extremely difficult to lower their times during the day of Sunday. The event will continue throughout Monday the 28th of May.
