As part of the Gozo Sports Festival 2018, in collaboration with the Gozo Sports Board, the Zebbug Local Council and the Ministry for Gozo, the Gozo Motorcross Association organised the third edition of the Gozo Enduro Rally 2018.

The event took place at Ix-Xwejni, limits of Marsalforn. Twenty - eight riders participated in this off-road event which proved to be an exciting and challenging run for all the riders. The participants, Gozitan and Maltese riders, had the opportunity to do a trial run between 11am and noon.

Then the competition consisted of three actual runs. Those with the best timing of all three runs become winners.

The terrain was quite challenging and the 27degree temperature heat did not help at all. However the competitors showed great courage and stamina and each and every rider strived to achieve the best time possible.

In first place, Enduro champion 2016-17, Joseph Scicluna had the best run of all followed by John Attard. Mathieu Salomon came in third  followed by Nataniel Camilleri and Mario Micallef respectively.

Gozo Sports Board representative JosefKarl Bajada presented trophies to the winners and also gave a medal to each participant. Frank Xuereb, Gozo Motocross Association's president presented a Blackrock off-road tyre each to Scicluna, Attard and Salomon.  He congratulated all riders and said that off-road competitions will continue to take place in Gozo and the association will always work very hard to make moto-sports events much more available to all those who love the sport. He encourages local authorities to continue their help in supporting this popular sport, while promoting the ability of local riders both here and also abroad.
