Goodies Ltd brings good news about chocolate by Italian chocolatier

Tuesday, 29 May 2018, 11:19 Last update: about 7 years ago

Perhaps few people know that the inventive Maltese were among those who pioneered chocolate in Europe way back in the 17th and 18th centuries. Now, Goodies Ltd of Qormi, in conjunction with Italian producer ICAM Cioccolatieri, is bringing the European journey of one of the world's most popular food full circle in Malta.

The recreation of this journey is headed by ICAM's master chocolatier, Gaetano Mignano, who held a series of workshops at catering establishments in Malta, demonstrating his vision for a world with chocolate at its heart. The occasion also saw the official introductions of ICAM Cioccolatieri's latest innovations from its Linea Professionale line, Milk Chocolate Ambra 40% and Cremone Bianco. Participants also discovered ICAM Cioccolatieri's new brand, Agostoni - Cioccolato Italiano dal 1946.

This was the second visit by Chef Patissier Mignano to Malta following a successful trip in June 2017. This year, he held workshops at various catering establishments in Malta and Gozo. Hailing from Naples and a family tradition steeped in confectionary making, Chef Patissier Mignano won first place in the Gelato World Cup Sigep World Championship in 2008.

Bearing the 'Made in Italy' quality pledge and carrying forward ICAM Cioccolatieri's hallmark of making the finest chocolate, Milk Chocolate Ambra boasts a full and clean milk flavour with delicate notes of chocolate in balanced sweetness and can be used for an array of pastry products. Cremone Bianco, on the other hand, is a white chocolate which has 20 per cent of hazelnut paste that brings to life pastries by combining flavours of chocolate, milk and hazelnut.

Meanwhile, the new Agostoni brand builds on the premium confectioner's 70 years of experience by providing a new energy to chocolatiers, pastry chefs and ice-cream makers.

Rachel Mercieca, sales manager at Goodies Ltd said: "Due to popular demand, we invited Chef Mignano to visit Malta again. He shares his inspirational techniques and generously demonstrates to our clients why the versatility of ICAM's professional chocolate lines continues to evolve, and be a part of an increasingly popular preference."

ICAM professional line products are imported and distributed by Goodies Ltd. The company has over 23 years of experience in importing and distributing quality chocolates, confectionary items, delicatessen snacks and beverages to supermarkets, confectionery shops and catering establishments in Malta and Gozo.
