Vassallo Group once again held its annual Shine Awards night.

At this event, awards for excellence in various areas of operation and for overall performance were awarded. These included awards for customer focus, green initiatives and service quality. Other awards were given out for efforts related to health and safety and training and development. This year the Brand Ambassador award and the Extra Mile award were introduced for the first time.

In a speech during the event Group chairman Nazzareno Vassallo focused on the various HR initiatives particularly those taken during the past year within the Group. These initiatives are related to career progression opportunities, personal and professional development, recognition of efforts and service, cultural diversity and gender equality, better communication with employees and work life balance. He also spoke about the Group's internal set up to assist employees who go through a rough patch in their life and the plans to help more individuals who request assistance.

The event was compered by actress and presenter Taryn Mamo Cefai.

The event included a performance by the Annalise School of dancers and numbers by employees coming from various companies within the Group who sang, played music or danced on stage to the admiration of those who attended this annual event.

The Shine Awards 2018 came to an end with a reception catered for by Vassallo Group's Cateressence.
