A newly-formed association of residents in Attard will work to raise environmental issues and work to protect the locality for future generations.

Attard residents are keen environmentalists and have nature at heart, the Attard Residents Environmental Network said in a statement. For this purpose, various residents have grouped up to safeguard the natural environment found within the precincts of Attard.

Throughout the years various areas which used to serve a breath of fresh air have been destroyed by construction works. And from plans underway, it appears that it will be time to say goodbye to various agricultural lands, farms and other open spaces to construct a road which soon will be the cause of air pollution. This will lead to respiratory diseases to families and children who live very close to the mentioned Central Link Project.

For this purpose, the residents have grouped up as Attard Residents Environmental Network with the aim of safeguarding the environment which is at an imminent risk of being destroyed.

The network appealed to the Government to take the necessary actions so that the environment will be safeguarded and not destroyed. We are in duty bound to pass to the future generations our natural heritage which we are all enjoying nowadays.
