A man was found dead at the forensic ward at Mount Carmel Hospital in Attard, the police said today.

The 28-year-old was found unconscious in his cell at 4pm and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he died.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud is conducting an inquiry.

The police are investigating.

An autopsy is expected to be held in the coming days.
