Freeport at City Gate - kiosks mar beauty of Tritoni Square

Wednesday, 4 July 2018, 07:45 Last update: about 7 years ago

The recently installed ‘kiosks’ at Tritons Square in Valletta look more like shipping containers.

The ten kiosks, which cost €40,000 a piece, have been the subject of an ongoing debate in the social media ever since they were installed and, in most instances, people did not have nice words about them.

With the opening of one of them, people were now able to gauge what the square will look like once all of them become operational.

And the general idea is that such a beautiful square - the Tritoni Fountain area has by and large been greatly welcomed as a much-needed project to give Valletta the entrance it deserved - has been marred by the kiosks.
