Godfrey Farrugia, one of Partit Demokratiku's MPs, has written and sponsored a Malta Parliament resolution at the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Parliamentary Assembly, PD said in a statement.

This resolution, titled ‘A Shared Priority: Fostering Peace and Security through enabling Young People to reach their Full Potential’, was co-sponsored by 29 Parliamentary delegations and has been approved by the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment with 36 votes in favour, none against and three abstentions.

This resolution urges the 57 participating states in the OSCE to commit to involving young people in decision-making and sustainable development for the well-being of society. It also calls on OSCE to foster peace of mind and make Europe a safer place to live in.

The resolution identifies the developmental challenges facing young people today, and recommends valid entry points at regional, national and international levels. Such youth strategies aim to empower youths and guarantee young people’s human dignity, freedom, social justice, solidarity and equity.

Partit Demokratiku said it is proud to foster Malta's success abroad, by leading by example, participating constructively with international and European bodies, and striving for Malta to succeed not through loopholes, opportunism and greed, but through proper cooperation and engagement.
