Shop owner seriously injured by thief in Hamrun robbery

The owner of a shop in Hamrun was seriously injured early this morning when he surprised a thief who had broken into the outlet, the police said.

The incident took place in Immaculate Conception Street at 3.15am.

The police said that the thief entered the shop by breaking a window, but he found the owner of the shop inside.


The thief attacked the owner with a knife, and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The owner was taken to hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating.
