75th Anniversary - 1943 Allied Invasion of Sicily 'Operation Husky'

On 10 July, MaltaPost released a stamp issue to commemorate Malta's involvement in the iconic World War II operation codenamed Operation Husky.

The stamps reproduce photographs showing Commander General Dwight Eisenhower and Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Tedder with their comrades in preparation for Operation Husky.  The stamps carry a face value of €1 each. Photos courtesy of Heritage Malta.

The stamps will be issued in sheets of nine stamps with each stamp measuring 35mm x 35mm with a perforation of 13.75 x 13.75 (comb.), while the sheets measure 135mm x 135mm. The stamps bear the Maltese Crosses watermark while Printex Limited printed the set in the process and the issue consists of 60,000 stamps.
