A video showing England players trying to score while their semi-final opponents Croatia are celebrating has emerged on the social media.
The video shows Rushford and Lingaard and a third player resuming the game while Croatian players are celebrating Mandzukic’s goal which gave Croatia a 2-1 lead in the World Cup semi-final played on Wednesday.
It was an embarrassing moment for the England national side, which tried to take advantage of the situation knowing (or supposedly knowing) that a game resumes after a goal only when the two sets of players are in their respective half.
Rushford and Lingaard were pulled back before they shot at goal - Croatia goalkeeper Subotic was not with his colleagues at the other end of the pitch - and returned to midfield where the game then resumed normally.
England lost the game 2-1.
Panama had tried to do the same thing when they played England in the first round of the competition.
Video above shows a close-up of the Rushford and Lingard's action and video below shows an overview of the whole situation.
