Three Swedish men were taken to hospital after they were attacked by a Libyan man and another person whose identity is still to be established, the police said.
The incident took place in George Borg Olivier Street in Sliema at 8.30pm on Friday evening.
The three men injured, all aged 32, were taken to hospital, with one of them suffering serious injuries and the other two diagnosed with slight injuries.
The Libyan man who attacked them was arrested by the members of the police Rapid Intervention Unit later in Swieqi, while the police are searching for the second man.
The police did not disclose the type of injuries sustained neither the reason why the Swedish men were attacked.
