Language is a collective exhibition presenting the works of respected Maltese and Gozitan artists Austin Camilleri, Gabriel Caruana, George Muscat, Jesmond Vassallo, Justin Falzon, Mario Sammut, Paul Haber, Pawl Carbonaro, Teresa Sciberras, Victor Agius and Vince Briffa.
Language was drafted together on the premise of visual communication, its diversity in medium, technique and style which represents the unique artistic identity of the respective artists. Each work is a model of artistic expression, ranging in tone according to the artists' subject of discourse. The collection brings together a group of experiences and ideas to the audience to share and converse upon. The works include a selection of paintings, etchings, aquatints, panels in mixed media, ceramics and works on paper amongst others.
The presented subject matters range from being on Gozo, the community, ethics, nature, relationships, among others. Together the eleven artists create a platform of dialogue which welcomes ideas and new perspectives from the visitors, encouraging for a dialogue to form. The artists hold a repertoire of a high level of education in art and experience on both a national and international scale. The artists have exhibited in galleries and important institutions both locally and internationally.
