A man was caught transporting cigarettes on which no excise duty was paid, the police said.

In a statement, the police said a man was seen carrying boxes from a boat to a car in St Paul’s Bay this morning at 5.15.

Police officers went on site and found that the boxes contained the cigarettes.

The man was arrested.
