A woman was taken to hospital this morning after she was hit by a car in Luqa, the police said.

The accident took place in St Andrew’s Road corner with St George's Road at 9.15am.

The 66-year-old woman, who resides in Luqa, was hit by a Kia Sportage driven by a 47-year-old woman of Mgarr.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, the police said.
