Swimmers at Ramla l-Hamra Bay in Gozo on Sunday were treated to an unusual site when a flamingo landed on the sand.

Curious onlookers gingerly approached the bird which did not seem too miffed by their presence.

Birdlife said that people are encouraged to contact the organisation in case of sightings such as the ones at Ramla l-Hamra.
